Job Title: Afterschool Teacher
PJA Afterschool is hiring for the '25-'26 school year. Orientation begins August 18th.
LOCATION: Multiple Sites Open - West Side Portland
REPORTS TO: Director of Afterschool Programs, Program Coordinator
WAGE: Program Leader (Teacher) $19.00-$20/hour; Program Assistant $17.75-$18.75/hour
FTE: Part-time
Portland Jewish Academy (PJA) is an inclusive community day school that serves students from Early Childhood through 8th grade. The Afterschool Department offers an on-site afterschool program for PJA students and three off-site afterschool programs serving public schools in the Portland Metro area. Our afterschool programs are non-religious but still highlight PJA's core values by prioritizing a curriculum that fosters inclusivity, collaborative learning, social/emotional development, and community engagement.

JOB SUMMARY: PJA Afterschool teachers are responsible for direct supervision, support and enrichment for students during non-school hours. They design and implement curriculum, provide small group instruction, manage the classroom environment, communicate with students, families, and staff, and maintain student records.
